About the job Job Description: As a Night Shift Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our manufacturing processes during evening hours. You will be responsible for overseeing various mechanical aspects of our operations, including robotic programming, controls, CNC machinery, forging, mold making, and more.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations during the night shift. Program and maintain robotic systems to optimize production efficiency and accuracy. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with CNC machinery and other equipment. Develop and implement control systems to enhance manufacturing processes. Utilize knowledge of forging techniques to support production of high-quality tools. Design and fabricate molds for casting and shaping components as needed. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Document procedures, processes, and changes for future reference and training purposes. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards at all times. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in robotic programming, controls, and automation. Strong proficiency in CNC machinery operation and troubleshooting. Knowledge of forging techniques and experience in mold making. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to work the night shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday - Friday) at our facility in Shawnee, Kansas. Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
