**Position Summary:**
As a vital member of our engineering team, your main responsibility will be to refine and enhance the structural design of our inaugural chassis platform. You'll work collaboratively to refine our current models and innovate for the future, ensuring our designs exemplify quality, durability, and cost-efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Craft and refine finite element models, collaborating with design engineers to meet industry standards.
- Provide advanced CAE support, balancing performance with engineering and manufacturing demands.
- Analyze structural integrity and recommend design improvements for our vehicle components.
- Identify and integrate new tools and methods for rapid, accurate solutions.
- Drive product innovation through advanced analytical techniques.
- Monitor design developments, ensuring analyses are reflected in the evolution of our vehicles.
- Evaluate simulation results against benchmarks to meet mechanical integrity and reliability.
- Document analysis findings and recommendations comprehensively.
- Develop models to align with physical tests, optimizing design efficiency.
- Engage in design reviews, contributing to cross-functional team discussions.
- Continuously develop your expertise and contribute to our engineering knowledge base.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and advocate for engineering best practices.
**Qualifications:**
- Robust expertise in Finite Element Analysis, Solid Mechanics, Material Science, and Computational Methods in the transportation sector.
- Proficiency in CATIA and Ansys, with a solid grasp of GD&T.
- Comprehensive understanding of automotive product development and design principles.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in FMEA, DVP&R, and other quality assurance methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a Master's preferred and at least 8 years of relevant automotive industry experience.
**Location:**
This full-time role is based in Novi, MI.
**Compensation:**
We offer a competitive salary range of $108,000 to $124,700, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
