POSITION : Mechanical Designer II
STATUS : Full-Time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed engineering designs and plans for mechanical components, equipment, and systems. This position will collaborate with various departments to ensure the designs meet customer specifications, quality and safety standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and develop design concepts, detailed plans, and specifications for mechanical devices and equipment.
Use CAD and CAM software to create 3D models, 2D drawings, or other documents that depict the design of mechanical components and systems.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet all technical requirements, can be made efficiently, and are cost-effective.
Conduct research and development to identify any new materials, technologies, or trends that could improve the design, manufacturing, or efficiency of the mechanical equipment.
Ensure designs meet all relevant quality and safety standards, codes, and regulations and are compliant with industry-specific requirements.
Analyze potential problems that could arise during the manufacturing process and recommend any solutions to solve these issues.
Use customer feedback and data to find any areas of improvement or identify areas of repair for existing machines.
Document accurate records of the design process and any test analytics.
Maintain and mange project timelines, resources, and budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is desired
OR any combination of education and experience
that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties
10+ years of combined experience in Solidworks, AutoCAD, Revit, Sheet Metal and P&ID's
Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards
Knowledge of the manufacturing industry
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and best practices
Proven experience in designing industry-specific products
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.
