HIRING NOW FOR A MECHANIC! The hourly rate for this position is $29.65 plus full benefits: Medical, De ntal, vision, 401k, paid vacation, and much more.  Allweather Wood (AWW) is looking for an experienced Equipment Mechanic to work with us at our Washougal, WA facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge with Forklift maintenance and repair. Additional experience with tractor trailers is highly preffered. 
Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.

Maintain and repair equipment and/or rolling stock including trucks, forklifts, frontend loaders, heel booms, pickups, quads, and other rolling stock Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles, including cleaning, inspecting, testing, and operating. Performs servicing and changes tires as needed Review maintenance records of MFP/MRC vehicles, monitor preventative maintenance schedules and update records after maintenance or repair work is completed Comply with hazardous materials written programs Operate power tools, jacks, hoists, grinders, welder and cutting torch; may cut, braze, weld, and fabricate Work as an integral part of the Company shop team Clean up shop, wash bay and surrounding area daily always Follow safe work practices Maintain written service and repair records Position travels locally, usually by car, up to 25% of the time High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must possess a valid California Drivers' license and be eligible to operate a company vehicle under company policy guidelines Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and remain alert while driving for an aggregate period of up to 8 hours. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.  The employee is occasionally required to smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position requires eye protection, hearing protection, leather or rubber gloves, safety shoes, and hard hat.
