Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our team at ENCON Equipment, a leading provider in equipment sales, rental, and service. This role is critical in ensuring that all equipment, from power tools to heavy machinery, is operating efficiently, safely, and reliably. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing problems, and repairing complex mechanical issues.
Responsibilities: Perform regular maintenance and safety checks on all equipment to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety regulations. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts and components in line with manufacturers' specifications. Carry out repairs on engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems. Maintain detailed records of serviced equipment, documenting repairs, maintenance, and replacements. Provide cost estimates for repairs and order necessary parts from suppliers. Assist in the preparation of equipment for rental, including final inspections and functional testing. Work closely with the customer service team to provide technical support and advice to customers. Adhere to workplace safety policies, and maintain tools and equipment in safe, working order. Participate in training and development activities to stay current with industry trends and technologies. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training or certification in mechanical repairs is highly preferred. Proven experience as a mechanic, ideally with specific experience in construction or industrial equipment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Experience with diagnostic software and equipment used in the troubleshooting process. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy machinery. Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical details to non-technical staff or customers. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Skills: Technical proficiency in mechanics. Proficient in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment. Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
