Details of the offer

'The lumber industry has grown and changed a lot since the 1880s, and McDonough Manufacturing Company has grown right along with it. We have never lost our ability for innovation nor our desire to make the best sawmill equipment available. Our exclusive Super Duty Air Strain system is a case in point. So is our patented McDonough End Dogging Log Feeding system. McDonough Band Mills, Band Resaws and related equipment items are better known than ever for rugged design, reliability and value. Our continuing company policy of complete, personal service is still the best in the industry.
Brand loyalty is no longer the main factor in new equipment purchases. Value and payback have become the new criteria and we are still considered a preferred supplier. There's a reason we haven't forgotten Frank McDonough's original philosophy that has brought us to where we are today."
Job Description McDonough Manufacturing has immediate openings for a CNC
Machinist (Lathe Operator) on our 2nd shift.
This position will be responsible for producing machined parts by planning, programming,
setting up and operating CNC and manual machines while maintaining high quality and
safety standards at all times.
Job Duties:
As a CNC programmer machinist, your job duties typically involve a combination of
programming CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines and operating them to
produce precision parts and components. Here's a breakdown of the typical job duties:
Programming:
Create CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software based on engineering drawings, blueprints, or CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models. Develop efficient machining processes to optimize production time and ensure quality standards are met. Debug and troubleshoot CNC programs to resolve any issues that arise during production.  Continuously improve and refine CNC programs for enhanced efficiency and accuracy. Setup:  Set up CNC machines, including loading raw materials, installing cutting tools, and securing workpieces in place. Configure machine settings such as cutting speeds, feeds, and toolpaths according to programmed specifications. Conduct tool changes and offsets as necessary to maintain accuracy throughout the machining process. Operation: Operate CNC machines to execute programmed machining operations, monitoring the process to ensure parts are produced to the required specifications. Perform routine checks and inspections of machined parts using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Make adjustments to machine settings or tooling as needed to maintain quality and consistency of output. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components for signs of wear or damage. Identify and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions that may affect machine performance or quality of output. Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical problems with CNC equipment, collaborating with maintenance technicians or engineers as needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machining processes, including CNC programs, setup instructions, and production logs. Document any deviations from standard procedures or quality issues encountered during production for future reference and improvement. Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other team members to review machining requirements, discuss project specifications, and ensure clear communication throughout the production process. Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements, tooling enhancements, or cost-saving measures to optimize manufacturing operations. These duties may vary depending on the specific industry, company, and type of CNC
machines being used. Additionally, staying updated with advancements in CNC
technology and machining techniques is essential for a CNC programmer machinist to
excel in their role.
