This position will require other maintenance duties and responsibilities.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and repair industrial chillers; cooling towers; split, package & rooftop direct expansion systems; central plant chilled/heated water and steam systems; water- and air-cooled condensers; and all associated equipment.Troubleshoot and repair industrial pumps, temperature controllers, industrial plumbing equipment, general plumbing.Strong analytical skills in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical controls, control software logic, direct digital control and components. Maintain and repair control valves, dampers, v.a.v. boxes, linkages, actuators, compressors, cooling/heating coils, etc. Install and maintain power and control circuits (voltages up to 500vac) including conduit installation. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.Must be capable of soldering on refrigeration and air conditioning pipes/coils etc. and certified in refrigerant reclaim and recovery. Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performedMaintains work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping effortsAdheres to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practicesQualifications/Requirements:High School Diploma/GEDMinimum 2 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or HVAC related maintenanceMinimum of 1 certificate of completion in the air conditioning/refrigeration, maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and building maintenance and plumbingCertified in refrigerant reclaim and recovery.Willing and able to work overtime and any shift and weekends.Requires the ability to read, write, and speak the English language: interpret and follow written procedures, and follow verbal instructions.Requires the ability to read blueprints and schematicsOperate a scissor lift, forklift and articulated boom lift.Must be proficient in repairing and maintaining machinery in operating condition.Have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace mechanical and electro-mechanical systemsWorking knowledge of MS Outlook and MS ExcelELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, nationals of the United States, asylees and refugees) due to access to export-controlled technology.Must pass physical, background, and drug screensDesired Characteristics:Associate degree or 2-year certificate in maintenance of air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and/or building maintenance.Knowledgeable in industrial plumbing and electricalExperience using maintenance systemEffective problem identification and solution skillsProven analytical and organizational abilityProven experience and willingness to be self-directed and identify improvement processesAbility and willingness to work effectively with others in a team settingFollow and promote safe work practicesCommunicate effectively with othersThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
