End Date: 09/27/2024 (extendable)
Contract: 3 months with possible extension
Job Description Duties
-Responsible for manual and clerical duties involved in the daily operation of warehouses, storage areas, and laydown yards
-Performs inventory and materials management tasks, including material handling, shipping/receiving, stock maintenance, disposal and coordination of material movements between warehouses, facilities and project sites
-Operates material handling equipment
-Performs structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues
-Issues, receives, stores and/or transfers materials for jobs.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Zero or more years of experience in materials handling or warehouse operations
-Driver's license required for incumbents with corresponding driving responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of warehouse and stores practices, materials, supplies, maintenance and construction terminology and accounting principles and practices.
-Skill in operation of materials handling equipment used in the department (including forklift, pallet jack, etc.), verbal and written communication, customer service and office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
-Ability to work in a team environment and manage competing high priority work demands
Work Environment:
-Work hours are spent in a warehouse and outdoor environment
-Works at heights up to 20 ft
-Work involves exposure to noise
-Work involves exposure to various and sometimes extreme weather conditions
-Works in close proximity to energized high voltage electrical equipment
-Work requires use of protective equipment
-Work involves handling and inspecting equipment and material containing hazardous chemicals and wastes
Physical Demands: - Frequent finger/hand manipulation in using a keyboard, mouse and hand tools
-Constant climbing, crawling, crouching or other non-sitting positions in storing and retrieving materials
-Constant standing and/or walking in taking inventory and receiving, storing, retrieving and delivering materials
-Frequently lifts and carries up to 70 pounds , pushes or pulls up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 . Work at chest level or higher, including overhead full arm extension holding up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
-Frequent climbing of ladders
