What you will do: Leads overall plant efforts to assure consistent, efficient, and timely flow of both purchased and raw materials to support the manufacturing efforts of the facility to meet the customer's needs and expectations by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and/or support personnel.    How you will do it: Leads the Purchasing, Shipping / Receiving, Production Scheduling and Inventory Control functions.  Leads improvement and follow-up for JCMS Requirements in Material Control Principle, and interacts with other Plant Principle Champions for advances in JCMS across the plant. Coordinates with Manufacturing and Engineering to assure that materials are on site in a timely manner to facilitate speedy and accurate parts availability to meet customer demands. Develops budget and labor requirements for the Inventory, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing and Scheduling function in the plant. Works with Procurement to identify and qualify suppliers, work with Quality to set up and maintain vendor quality acceptance processes. Leads Materials Requirement Planning activities used in ERP systems, and insures that there is a process to communicate, control and maintain requirements to Suppliers either with blanket PO's, Discrete PO's, Kanban process or Consignment.  Also monitors performance from Suppliers for Delivery and communication. Monitors and develops actions to meet and improve Delivery Metrics for all orders, including Leadtime, Request, Promise, Quick Ships and Replacement orders. Establish and maintain Kan Ban, systems to assure on demand flow of materials to the Manufacturing floor. Handles daily issues in support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities in production, and addressing issues. Establish and run consignment programs for materials and blanket purchasing agreements for commodity items. Manage compliance to Routing Guides contracts from Logistics both in-bound and out-bound to assure Customer needs are satisfied. Coordinate all off site inventory locations. Coordinate the scheduling and inventory movement of all outside processing operations. Develops and manages along with Procurement a Material Cost Reduction Program for both Raw Materials and Purchased Parts. Ensures that all warehouse operations are on schedule. Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments. Operates within budget and contributes to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses. Complies with Employee Engagement, Training and employee development by promoting training activities and opportunities for all employees in this area. What we look for: Required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study with four (4) to six (6) years experience in a warehouse, manufacturing OR production area with material management experience.  Supervisory / leadership experience In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional ten (10) years of related experience.  Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
