Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday 4:00 PM- 8:30 PM
Pay Type: Hourly Non-Exempt
Pay Frequency: Weekly Pay
Job Summary Material Handlers are responsible for the timely and accurate movement of materials and products throughout the facility. Working closely with the production and warehouse teams, the Material Handler will ensure a smooth and seamless flow of goods to support our operations by driving all tow motors and order pickers within the building in order to move product and/or materials, to include loading and unloading trucks and transferring product in and out of racking.
Education And Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/production role is preferred Valid forklift operator certification and experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment Position Requirements and Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects regularly. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records. Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management. Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to follow safety protocols diligently. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. Flexibility to work different shifts as needed. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently. Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures. Ability and desire to grow in the position and accept more responsibility. Ability to take initiative in providing new ideas to improve process efficiencies. Must be able to maintain regular and predictable attendance. Essential Responsibilities, Expectations, And Behaviors include, but are not limited to, the following:
Material Movement: Safely and efficiently move materials, products, and equipment within the facility, using appropriate tools and equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Inventory Management: Accurately record incoming and outgoing materials, and maintain proper inventory levels through regular stock checks and reconciliation. Order Fulfillment: Fulfill production and customer orders by pulling materials from inventory and preparing them for shipping, ensuring on-time delivery. Quality Control: Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the supervisor or appropriate personnel. Storage and Organization: Ensure materials are stored in designated locations, following safety guidelines and best practices for efficient space utilization. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of material movement, transactions, and inventory adjustments. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations to create a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly. Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to facilitate smooth material flow and resolve any issues that may arise. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the maintenance team. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Provide continuous and timely feedback to Team Leader (including but not limited to safety, productivity, and Quality). Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or department. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Working Conditions: The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift Ability to lift, bend, stand, walk, and stretch frequently throughout the day. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, sit throughout various parts of assigned tasks. Noise level for this environment is low to moderate.
