Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Youngstown, OH
Payrate: $15-$16 per hour
Hours: 5:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday with possible Fridays
SCOPE: As a South Dock Material Handler at Gasser Chair Co, you'll be vital in packing and loading products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and maintaining product integrity. Your commitment to quality and attention to detail directly impacts our ability to deliver exceptional products to customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficiently and accurately pack finished products to prevent damage during transportation. Conduct quality control checks to identify defects or imperfections before packaging. Properly label packages with destination and handling instructions, completing all necessary documentation. Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies. Safely load packaged products onto trucks or shipping containers, maximizing space utilization. Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment, reporting hazards promptly. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure seamless coordination throughout the packing and loading process. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, collaborating with management for implementation. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; additional logistics or warehouse management education is advantageous. Previous experience in packing and loading, ideally in manufacturing or distribution. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, meeting quality standards consistently. Excellent organizational and time management skills, adept at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team. Physical capability to lift up to 85 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in material handling and warehouse operations.
