The Role:
The Brand Director position will be responsible for all aspects of brand building including development and execution of marketing programs, social & digital activation, media, POS, and national and local initiatives/events. The position will also be responsible for day-to-day oversight of agencies and supporting team members.
Primary responsibilities are to ensure marketing programs, events and sponsorships are reflective of the brand, of the highest quality, completed on time/budget, and lead to brand awareness and ultimately sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Programs:
Develop full year marketing initiatives and budgets with guidance from general manager
Manage development from ideation to implementation (e.g., assigning roles, budgeting, creating timelines, conducting weekly status meetings, etc.)
Lead development of sales materials/presentations and elements necessary to execute programming through each channel. Ensure training materials are developed and updated as needed
Point of sale:
Lead development and execution of all POS including brief development, creative development, signoffs and production
Oversee delivery to market and proper implementation
Manage budget and ROIs
Advertising: (traditional, non-traditional)
Research, ideate and develop local advertising plans for top markets based on individual opportunities and nuances
Collaborate with creative/agency team to develop all advertising for campaigns (e.g., assigning roles, budgeting, creating timelines, conducting weekly status meetings, etc.)
Obtain approvals and traffic to final publications/outlets
Track results based on ROI and explore test & learn opportunities
Social / Digital Marketing: (Paid & Organic)
Social
Collaborate on quarterly social strategy with teams
Oversee execution of social marketing to drive awareness, engagement and ultimately sales (e.g., calendar creation, content creation, community management, channel growth, and creative marketing ideas)
Work closely with agency/creative resource to create visually appealing content (both still & motion)
Provide in-depth reporting, insights and analytics – test & learn
Stay informed on emerging trends and technology
CRM (newsletter)
Actively cultivate and grow email list by creating and deploying shareable content
Website:
Advise and work with web partner to update, add pages, improve UX as needed and with new product rollouts
PR:
Oversee yearly PR strategy and plan including KPI development
Manage PR agency against scope on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
Hold agency accountable for ideation of press worthy pitch plans
Ensure local PR plans come to fruition and generate positive ROI
Merchandise:
Manage WJ merchandise program from product development, procurement, inventory and budgeting
Manage associated team managers in their supporting roles
Events:
Lead all industry and consumer events
Create plan for yearly event participation, budget required and execution plan
Manage onsite, train staff as needed
Recap key learnings and implement in future activations
Other:
Accountable for monthly marketing budgeting (forecasting and reconciliation) for all aspects of the marketing mix
Trend watch – constantly researching and reviewing trends in our industry
Monthly reporting – work with team to compile and lead internal team reviews
Required Skills:
6-8 years of marketing experience (beverage industry experience a plus)
