DLP is looking for a creative storyteller that can craft colorful and informative multimedia assets illustrating the positive impact DLP provides for Downtown Lexington and our members.

Responsibilities · Create and implement strategic marketing and communications plans
· Develop plans to build and maintain the DLP brand and downtown
· Actively manage daily social media across multiple platforms, website updates and weekly e-newsletter 
· Engage and coordinate relevant DLP committees and/or board members
· Recruit, train, and manage interns in marketing
· Regularly obtain video footage and produce video for social media and events highlighting members and downtown Lexington
Examples of previous videos may be viewed on DLP Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
· Develop and implement robust earned media plan maintaining media relations with print, radio and TV outlets
· Serve as key media contact actively working to enhance and cultivate relationships with the media particularly within the top tier of business press
· Pitch stories to media to increase DLP's and Downtown Lexington Management District's (DLMD) awareness in the community and media presence
· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Event Responsibilities · DLP produces Central Bank Thursday Night Live, weekly April – October, position supports and/or supervises DLP activities
· DLP produces a full calendar of additional events. Occasional night and/or weekend work will be required
· Other responsibilities as assigned by Executive Director
Required Qualifications & Skills · Bachelor's degree and 1-2 or more years' experience in marketing, communications, or community relations
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills
· Highly motivated and outgoing
· Hard worker with a passion for Downtown
· Knowledge of PC software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact, & Canva Pro
· Ability to walk several downtown blocks at a time; ability to sit/stand for long periods of time
· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
General Information · Compensation and title will be commensurate with experience. Salary: starting at $45,000
· Full-time – Approximately 40 hours per week, plus event work after normal business hours and during weekends, as needed.
