Title: Manufacturing & Tooling Engineer Supervisor - 106875 Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position Your Responsibilities As a Manufacturing Engineer / Tooling Supervisor for John Deere Thibodaux located in Thibodaux, LA, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, acquisition, and manufacturing of a variety of intricate and highly specialized tools, fixtures, jigs, dies, and gauges within established safety, quality, delivery, and cost guidelines. You will operate in a team environment within the enterprise order fulfillment and product delivery process.  In addition, you will:
Supervise a team of highly skilled Tool Designers, Tool Makers, Material Coordinator & Contract Technicians on first and second shifts. Facilitate and maintain engineering roadmap processes, work requests, Below the Hook Lifting Device (BHLD) request system, and department SharePoint sites. Lead and prioritize preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime. Support and facilitate factory master plan changes, work-center layouts, redesigns, and new equipment installations throughout the facility. Facilitate factory small tools inventory, replacement, and deployment process. Manage factory below the hook lifting device (BHLD) inspection and deployment program. VISA Sponsorship is not available for this position What Skills You Need 5 or more years of experience and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes that include, Tool Design and Tool Making standards, Assembly, Weld, and Material Prep. 5 or more years of experience with engineering tools such as SAP, CREO, Manufacturing Process Planner & SharePoint Administration. 3 or more years of experience with the use, design, or development of Below the Hook Lifting Devices (BHLD). Expertise in drawing and schematic interpretation, computer aid design (CAD), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and Finite Element Analysis. Experience planning, organizing, and implementing engineering projects and assignments. Experience communicating and facilitating across functions (such as manufacturing engineering, operations, quality engineering, material flow, management, and human resources. What Makes You Stand Out 10 or more years in a manufacturing engineering role within a manufacturing environment. 5 or more years of experience in computer-aided design and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. 5 or more years of experience with the use, design, or development of Below the Hook Lifting Devices (BHLD). 3 or more years of experience directly leading or supervising a workforce in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of mistake-proofing and design for manufacturability competencies. Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural, industrial, or manufacturing engineering/technology.
