We are looking for an experienced hands-on Quality Engineer with lean manufacturing knowledge to join our client who is one of the leading transit bus solutions manufacturers. Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer who understands the processes of the shop floor that are the integral part of the operations such as welding, maching, painting, and electronics. The right candidate for this role will also have a thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Root Cause Analysis and be able to discuss those steps and tools, such as FMEA, PPAP, 5 Why, and 8D methods.
The Quality Enginer will plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial manufacturing processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, customer, or vendors to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems.Provides computerized status report describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and/or other items related to the quality of the process, material, or product.Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products.Use FMEA & PPAP on product launches.Perform statistical analysis using ANOVA & DOE.Perform failure analysis using DMAIC & 5 why & 8D methods of problem solving.Maintain ISO compliance through Kaizens & VSM.Act as backup for Director of Quality when the Director is not available.Education/Experience:
