Your Job
Georgia-Pacific's Green Bay Broadway Mill has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Fiber Processing area. The Fiber area at the Broadway Mill consists of recycled fiber pulping, cleaning, and deinking processes as well as market pulp processing. The manufacturing engineer will report directly to the Fiber & Utilities Manager and will have broad responsibility for environmental compliance, safety, reliability, cost and managing within an ownership-based work system. The Broadway Mill is one of the largest wastepaper recycling operations in the world. It uses more than 430,000 tons of recovered wastepaper each year to produce paper products found in airports, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and schools. The fiber area consists of recycled fiber pulping, cleaning and deinking processes, as well as market pulp processing. The team consists of 3 Engineers and roughly 50 hourly employees. What You Will Do Create an environment where the team identifies and mitigates catastrophic potential risks Develop and execute GP's reliability and asset strategies including time based, condition based, operating envelope, and spare parts for responsible technology center(s) Facilitate zone ownership strategy by transferring ownership to technicians to operate, maintain and improve Provide technical expertise and transfer knowledge to Operator Technicians, Team Coaches, Reliability Coaches, Performance Leader, and others Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of EHS, compliance, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality capability, productivity, waste, and strategic capital planning and execution Lead the effort to identify, investigate, recommend and implement equipment improvements, new systems and process changes that will improve productivity, yield, quality and/or reduce costs Interface with Team Coaches, Reliability Coaches, Performance Leaders, Skill Developers, and Operator Technicians to identify and address knowledge and performance gaps in their technical center Work with support personnel resolving short term reliability issues Understand and communicate current capability and coordinate new opportunities with Business, Operations, and Supply Chain Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR in lieu of a degree, 4 years of experience in a pulp and paper environment Two (2) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment What Will Put You Ahead Experience in the power and utilities industry Experience working with wastewater treatment Equipment and/or manufacturing systems reliability experience
