What you'll do Within the Manufacturing Engineering scope, Product Engineering evaluates, reports, and achieves manufacturability KPI's by consulting with R&D on optimal product design.
Success is achieved by intimate knowledge of product design, production process and project management. The Manufacturing- ADAS-System Engineer" is responsible for parts such ADAS sensors and their interaction with Vehicle Body. You will report to the Manager, Drive system at Production Planning.

Your goal is to improve the product, design the vehicles according to the needs of manufacturing, and enable stable and ergonomic processes that are feasible for high-volume manufacturing Identify, decide, and implement technical requirements from manufacturing to influence product design Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, production control, and engineering to provide product design and product concepts according to the needs of ADAS integration. Use Data-Analysis, Simulations and virtual tests to identify risks for high-volume manufacturing Identify and implement ideas to improve product design to ensure stable assembly processes and minimal rework in series production Take responsibility for all communication between production planning assembly and engineering department as a single point-of-contact for all vehicle design related topics Use cross departmental collaboration to meet and exceed company goals and objectives in the field of design for manufacturing Coordinating activities within the team that outline and achieve project goals. Providing instruction and guidance about required techniques and regulations Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events. The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina, starting 2025. Until then, you will be required to be in the Detroit, MI area frequently. Applicants should expect the role to require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on the company's behalf.

5+ years professional experience with expertise in manufacturing engineering or production planning (General Assembly), including ability to achieve stable production processes Deep knowledge of vehicle engineering processes, knowledge of ADAS and its implementation. Bachelor's/ Master's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or equivalent Skillful at organizational and cross-functional collaboration at all levels; ability to develop effective partnerships and relationships. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range: $100,000 - $120,000
