We are currently searching for an accomplished attorney with experience in mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, venture capital, or related business transactions. A nationally-recognized law firm serving government contractors and commercial businesses is seeking a senior attorney to lead their Business & Transactions practice group for their office in Washingtn DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a minimum of 8 years of experience with sophisticated transactional work. The candidate hired will be trusted to guide our clients throughout the business cycle, collaborating with other senior attorneys on complex business transactions while managing a team of emerging associates. This is a great opportunity for a corporate attorney looking to further their career with a highly respected law firm.
Qualifications & Skills:
* 8 or more years of experience leading mergers & acquisitions transactions, drafting and negotiating purchase/sale agreements, financing agreements, and coordinating due diligence and closings
* Experience with entity formation and structuring, limited liability company agreements, shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, employee incentive plans, and commercial lending transactions
* Detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities, delegate efficiently, and meet deadlines
* Exceptional client communication and guidance throughout mergers and acquisitions, start-ups, and venture capital projects
* M&A and Corporate experience with government contractors and managing teams of in-house and outside counsel is preferred
* J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
* Admitted to practice in or eligible for prompt admission into the District of Columbia
