The Manager of FP&A role is accountable for the day-day development and management of financial models and performance as it relates to business goals and objectives. This position will work with key leaders to ensure that the business is operating effectively, with sound financial analysis, and with appropriate financial and operating controls in place. This position will apply in-depth knowledge of the business for recommendations to management.
Primary Responsibilities: Develop, enhance and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for selling, general and administrative expenses Collaborate with business leaders on cost drivers and assumptions Develop, perform and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as well as performance measures Develop, enhance and maintain financial reporting to clearly communicate results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget Understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions Work closely with the business to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans, and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies Assist and drive SG&A efficiency initiatives Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for their stakeholders Ad hoc projects and analysis as needed

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent degree 5+ years of financial or accounting experience Experience prioritizing & managing demanding workloads with concurrent deadlines Experience in trend / variance analysis Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, If statements, VLookups) Knowledge of GAAP, fundamental financial concepts, and procedures Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment Preferred Qualifications: PeopleSoft Experience, Hyperion SmartView and/or Essbase Solid interpersonal & communication skills (written & verbal) Solid analytical skills and business acumen Excellent interpersonal relationship building and communication (written and verbal) skills Ability to deal with ambiguity and change A collaborative and flexible style, with a desire to work in a dynamic environment Careers with Optum.
