Manager Technical Services Location Las Vegas, NV (Paradise area) : Konami Gaming is looking for a Manager Technical Services to join our team! The Manager, Technical Services position handles implementation and rollouts of SYNKROS system that requires high level technical skills. The position requires high level understanding of Object-Oriented programming. They must also understand XML and Linux structures and Oracle database and its structures or any Relational Database, including advance skills and knowledge of the SQL database language and know how to apply that towards the SYNKROS database.
This role must not only be able to work with external customers but must be able to work with internal customers from Sales, Compliance, Project Management, R&D and SQA. They will be a direct member of the R&D team, and will work directly with customer service, and senior managers to maintain and troubleshoot existing customer code base keeping to current system and industry requirements. The position is required to keep up to date with all the interfacing systems and understand their configurations with the host system, managing the Solutions Engineering Queue and escalate defects to the R&D queue directly, and responsible for addressing any bugs and occasional minor enhancement into the mainline code base of the SYNKROS product. These changes will be queued appropriately by the Product Management team to be included in backport and up port product releases to ensure all changes are incorporated into the current mainline product code base.
What you'll be doing: Troubleshoots and diagnoses system issues and resolve in efficient and timely manner in the areas of the SYNKROS application, interfaces, or database. Contacts customers and/or vendors in a professional manner, as necessary, to aid in SYNKROS related issues. Reports any discrepancies, changes or recommendations, and/or problems for resolution to senior management. Be available after-hours for critical/dire situations needing assistance from any internal customer. Maintain contact and communication with R&D to keep visibility on all new functionality from each development cycle. Identifies, reports and recommends bug related fixes to the steering and/or enhancement committees. If the bug fixes are approved and no workarounds are adequate, the steering/enhancement committee may approve the SSEM and team to make the change immediately to the affected version and upward to the current version. Efficiently perform SYNKROS version upgrades, meeting timelines and a 100% success rate ensuring that the correct approve code is pushed. Effectively and efficiently identify bugs across SYNROS and report these to R&D along with recommended fixes. Ensures fixes meet customer expectations and report timeline of fix to Customer Service. Work with all associated groups to maintain and develop new tools to be used within Customer Service to aid in quick and efficient resolutions. Oversee install team which includes Application experts and DBA's and offer any mentoring and guidance to the team to bring efficiency. Assist management to improve processes and interactions with solution engineering team and other groups and customers. This includes knowledge sharing. Work with services PMO to schedule SYNKROS rollout at customer locations and assign right skillset based on the project. Ensure resources are managed efficiently while resources are on site for technical support to ensure SYNKROS upgrades are efficient. Performs other duties as assigned. What we'll want you to have: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or other related field. 6 years of experience in application programming or related System application. 12-years of experience mentoring/leading others in a group. Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, verbal and written with all levels of the business. Must be able to obtain and maintain Gaming licensure(s). Intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Office products. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of the following technologies: Java programming expertise or any other Object-oriented language (OO, JVM, reflection, I/O, data structures) Socket programming Thread programming TCP/IP stack knowledge Advance SQL query procedure building JDBC, Oracle, or other RDBMS, SQLPlus Advance knowledge of XML and HTML 5 Linux basics Demonstrated performance and monitoring knowledge. Experience in design pattern, API design, ORM, and SOA. Understanding of automation and deployment. Additional Requirements: Full-time / 40+ hours per week. Must be flexible to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Must be comfortable working in an area with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at computer terminal for extended periods of time. Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Must be able to work at assigned location to enable direct communications and interactions with team members, management, and others as necessary, unless traveling for a business-related purpose. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, paying attention to detail, and meeting assigned deadlines. Demonstrates high integrity, trust, and strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain excellent communication and a positive, respectful, and professional attitude and relationship with clients, employees, peers, co-workers, all levels of management, and all outside organizations conducting business or otherwise interacting with the company. Ability to always act autonomously while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures. Must be able to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry while applying concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Business Casual with occasional professional dress as required. Work Environment: Position shall work primarily in a smoke free office environment. The noise level is low to moderate. Position shall maintain a cubicle or office in close proximity to other cubicles and offices. Position must attend monthly Field Research trips to casinos or as needed. Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
