We have an opportunity for a Manager of Technical Accounting to join our Corporate Accounting team. The Manager is responsible for all technical accounting determinations and provides technical accounting guidance to other stakeholders across Crane. This role has significant interaction with other Corporate department leaders including Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Investor Relations as well as business unit Finance teams and the Corporate Controllership team.

This role is hybrid, partially based in the Stamford, CT office and partially remote.
Responsibilities: Performing technical accounting research on various topics including revenue recognition, business combinations and impairment analyses; and consulting with third party advisors, where necessary, to validate findings. Documenting technical accounting positions in memos and presentations to finance leadership team. Providing technical accounting updates to Crane finance community. Monitor development of new and emerging accounting pronouncements, assess impact and lead the implementation efforts of such pronouncements. Support business combination accounting / purchase accounting (ASC 805). Assist with administration of stock-based compensation. Management of lease accounting and monitoring of lease expirations with third party provider of lease management. services, including oversight of lease management database. Assist with the preparation of more technical footnotes in Form 10-K & 10-Q. Assist with the external audit for Crane Company. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of technical accounting and ability to research and interpret relevant guidance to facilitate decision making. Highly driven and self-motivated individual who can manage projects independently. Detailed oriented, highly organized individual with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement. Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative nature with the ability to influence and lead others, while showing empathy Excellent oral and written communications skills.
