The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (UMSON) program at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) in Rockville, Maryland is currently recruiting for a Manager, Simulation Coordination . The Manager, Simulation Coordination will provide oversight of all simulation activities to ensure they occur as planned in the Clinical Simulation Laboratory (CSL). The Manager will oversee the development of simulations in conjunction with the Simulation Faculty member, Simulation Training Specialists, Manager of Simulation Technology and appropriate instructional faculty members. Will actively engage in simulation activities and assignments and ensure that the schedules, resources, supplies and evaluations are accomplished. Essential Functions: Oversee and participate in the planning, implementation and devaluation of simulation scenarios. Develop and maintain an inventory plan for all supplies and resources needed to perform simulation scenarios. Assess and plan for educational development of Simulation Training Specialists in order to meet national standards of simulation program. Assure that schedules and simulation activities provide the highest level of resource efficiency and efficacy. Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Simulation Technology to plan for new technologies, researching best products and training staff and faculty in technology usage. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in field or related field.
Master's degree or additional certification preferred. Experience: Four (4) years of related experience in simulation training/coordination and evidence of training in simulation methodology.
One (1) year of direct supervisory experience. Licensure/Certification: Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability and experience in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating simulation scenarios. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Writes and presents information in a clear and concise way. Interprets and understands written information and is able to listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding. Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Capable of interacting pleasantly and positively with other to meet customer expectations, and provide follow up with customers.
