Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate the SPD team in day to day operations• Interview and hire new employees and coach existing employees• Assist Sterile Processing Technicians with instrument processing• Communicate and foster relationships with hospital staff and STERIS leadership• Deliver key performance indicators and review quality metrics with Customers• Ensure proper processes are followed for compliance with industry standards• Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to streamline processes• Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple healthcare central sterile/sterile processing departments• Teach central processing certification courses• Attend meetings with contracted and potential clients and develop presentations
Requirements
• 6+ years of Sterile Processing Department experience• 3 years in an SPD supervisory/leader position• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications• Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile required• Additional certification for SPD Management/Leadership preferred• Extensive medical instrument knowledge• Knowledge of sterilization and processing equipment• Knowledge of healthcare logistics and supply chain management• Ability to manage a fast-paced and changing environment• Physical ability to use hands, talk, see, hear, stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
