Infrastructure Services provides flexible, reliable, and secure traditional and cloud infrastructure services (network services, platform services, data center operations and management, and unified communications) enabling connectivity, productivity, and security for UCLA. Infrastructure services strives to optimize performance increasing storage, elevating the network, and reducing downtown.
Communications Infrastructure Management designs and builds complete connectivity solutions and cable plants for voice, data, and video. This team retrofits new infrastructure into existing facilities; cut over of production systems and decommissioning of legacy systems. This team leads cabling and infrastructure installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Position Summary
The
Manager, Communications Infrastructure Management
will develop and oversee communications infrastructure maintenance, including plant operations, to ensure proactive, responsive, maintenance, testing and repairs of all mechanical, electrical facilities equipment and infrastructure. The Manager will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions to support communications infrastructure management operations, including building automation systems, energy management systems, work order management systems, and asset tracking systems. The Manager will supervise the safe and efficient operation of the plant(s) including the maintenance, repair planning, scheduling and installation of all equipment and controls. The Manager, Communications Infrastructure Management will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by ensuring UCLA's IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Qualifications
Five years
Experience working in one or more of the following fields: communications infrastructure management, information technology, or a related field.

Two years
Experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, or a related field. (Required)
Significant experience in IT management, with a strong understanding of communications infrastructure management operations and technology solutions. (Required)
Extensive experience solving technical and non-technical problems; able to delegate solutioning. Able to lead data gathering efforts seeking information from diverse sources.

Experience as a point of escalation. understanding of how decisions affect teams. ability to make decisions with integrity.
