As a member of the Optum Advisory Trend Analytics Consulting team, you'll contribute to pioneering healthcare cost analytics initiatives, supporting diverse health plans nationwide. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of Actuaries, Data/Research Analysts, and Business & Technology Consultants, you'll drive innovation and seize new business prospects.
In this role, you'll harness your expertise to leverage detailed healthcare claims data, crafting and maintaining models for financial analysis. Through analytical modeling, you'll tackle business challenges, extract key insights, and deliver compelling, client-ready presentations. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Leading cross-business analytics efforts, catering to Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid sectors
- Engaging with stakeholders to identify and explore analytical opportunities
- Conducting studies to evaluate healthcare affordability initiatives' impact
- Designing and executing intricate data programs and models using various tools like R, Python, SQL, SAS, and VBA
- Communicating modeling analyses effectively, offering actionable recommendations

Preferred qualifications include an Actuarial Credential (ASA or FSA) and prior experience in healthcare consulting.
