Position Title Identity and Access Management Specialist

Job Responsibilities The Identity and Access Management Specialist is responsible for configuring and maintaining servers, systems and security for user services and resources. This includes server and system administration and user resource administration such as accounts, permissions, licenses, services and resource allocation for faculty, staff, and students. System Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain servers, applications and security in order to facilitate access to user services and university resources Monitor systems and provide capacity planning recommendations Develop and maintain system documentation and training materials Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends Troubleshoot errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues Work with vendor support and make recommendations for existing and future configurations Other duties as assigned
Identity Access Management: Create and maintain user account access, and permissions for university systems, applications, resources and workspaces Monitor account usage, licensing, and security, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations Develop identity access management policies, standardize and automate identity management activities, and implement best practices Provide advanced support to automate and administer identity and compliance requirements in all enterprise information systems Participate in planning and take the lead role in the execution of identity management roadmaps and technology enhancements Create and maintain standards surrounding documentation related to identity processes, procedures, and infrastructure. Provide technical support to users for account and resource issues and inquiries Implement and manage resource quotas, such as email and disk or cloud storages
This is an exempt position. A typical work week is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with additional hours worked on occasion.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; or three (3) years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience installing and maintaining server operating systems and services Experience installing and maintaining security systems and managing security access Experience with identity management tools, such as Active Directory, Azure AD, or LDAP Understanding of Flexible Single Master Operation (FSMO) roles and how domain controllers interoperate Understanding of network concepts such as principles of routing, VLANS, and network design Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Technical certifications in areas of technology (A+ or similar) Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Experience with multi-factor security systems Experience with Linux Working knowledge of virtualization systems such as VMWare or an equivalent Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Bash, VBScript, PowerShell Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 Experience with open source software Employment experience in an educational setting Posting Detail Information
