Overview Configuration Management Specialist Location: Wichita, KS Clearance: TS/SCI The Configuration Management Specialist will provide Configuration Management (CM) support services for the Air National Guard (ANG) 181 Intelligence Support Squadron (ISS) and common user communication computer systems.
Responsibilities Ensure that unit mission system configuration documentation is accurately continuously maintained and verified. Support validation of configuration plans prior to initiation of an approved system modification request within five (5) days of notification from the Government. Ensure that all planned weapon system modifications have been documented and approved via the Security Impact Analysis (SIA) process on JWICS prior to the commencement of any modification. Ensure that all draft documentation prepared for installations are simultaneously updated to reflect what was installed during the modification. Prepare feedback documentation for each installation or modification once the site within working three days (3) of acceptance of the modification. Ensure delivered configuration drawings are accurate and maintained at site for use as planning documents upon initial installation and at least annually thereafter. Document the activities of all site surveys as needed. Action items resulting from such surveys shall be tracked and status updates provided monthly. Ensure CM activities do not conflict with ongoing active operational missions and mandatory training events. The contractors shall keep the Government informed of all CM actions. Support and track all system modifications and deficiency reports. Provide support to unit personnel on drafting Modification Proposal AF Form 067s and assist in reviewing all forms for accuracy prior to submittal to the appropriate program office. Ensure Deficiency Reports are thoroughly and accurately completed prior to submission into the logistics processing system. Track status of new capability requirements, deficiency reports, change requests, and trouble tickets to provide site leadership with the current state and up-to-date information on a monthly basis. Track installation planning for site upgrades and maintain a site timeline depicting the original and adjusted plans for all incoming capability modifications on a monthly basis. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 years of experience in the field or a related area OR Associate degree and at least 5 years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related experience. Experience working in software system development and sustainment as a software developer, analyst, systems engineer, CM Specialist or CM systems administrator Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with success working in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Power Point) Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are required.
