The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position works in the Accounting Division within the Secretary of State's office. The individual will be required to research, compile and analyze financial data, summarize results/conclusions, and make recommendations regarding development of new accounting programs or services. This position assists with testing of all new program builds and upgrades to ensure that all phases of the integration are compatible and data transfer is accurate. This position provides software support including participation in meetings with IT staff and system developers to ensure accounting needs are met and provides recommendations to management and executive staff. The purpose of this position is to be the lead accounting test person for internal accounting programs, Great Plains, and Cenuity upgrades. This position maintains accounting records, tracks and reports revenue, resolves customer complaints, solves problems and communicates solutions, revises procedures, and researches and corrects errors. This position utilizes all Secretary of State programs including Great Plains, Cenuity, Silverflume, GPI and CyberSource for transaction processing, refunds and debit and credit entries, approves, monitors, and processes financial transactions. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and one year of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR two years of experience as an Accountant Technician I or Tax Examiner II in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as an Accountant Technician II or Fiscal/Business Professional Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
