Alumni/Individual Fundraising Identify, and formally qualify new major and planned gift prospects, by developing and executing long-range and short-range strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects, producing a continuous stream of donors capable of making gifts of $25,000 or more to the School of Dentistry.
Emphasis on management of existing donors, discovery visits and portfolio building for a portfolio which will include individuals, major gift prospects and donors. Ensure consistent and appropriate contact, facilitate or make solicitations and ensure effective stewardship. Maintain accurate and current records, document activity and share with Director of Alumni Relations and Development and other School of Dentistry staff and development colleagues as necessary for transparency. Staff School of Dentistry and University-wide special events to involve and cultivate prospects. Assist with volunteer structures in recruiting and sustaining a strong volunteer network to assist in prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation as well as to provide expanded opportunities for key prospects to engage with the School of Dentistry. In collaboration with the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, establish metrics for number of strategic moves and solicitations based on Office of University Development recommendations that will inform annual evaluation and assessment processes. Corporate/Foundation Relations Fundraising Maintain and develop a portfolio with corporations and professional foundations whose foci are; dentistry, healthcare, underserved populations, access to care and oral health research interests. Nurture and development relationships and partnership with School of Dentistry faculty, leadership and partners in Office of University Development's Foundation Relations Team and other relevant university-wide partners. Conduct personal visits with foundation and corporation representatives and solicit gifts.  Within foundations and corporations work, support the development of proposals and strategies for academic leaders and faculty members. Other Duties Assigned Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development and Alumni Relations  As part of a small unit, collaboration, and ability to take on other duties as needed by the Office of Alumni Relations and Development or the School of Dentistry is imperative. Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary to accomplish the goals of the office. Supervisory Responsibilities:
None

Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years experience in direct fundraising and/or relevant experience in alumni outreach, marketing, sales, public relations, or other related fields with a commitment to higher education. Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google and excellent technological skills for retrieving, organizing and researching appropriate donor/prospect information as well as data gathering and manipulation.  Demonstrated experience working with a diverse constituency or client base with a high level of sophistication, confidentiality, and discretion.  Must have the ability to work comfortably with individuals at all levels (faculty, staff, students, donors, alumni, etc.).  Travel to markets, inclusive of nights and weekends required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills with an entrepreneurial mindset. Attention to detail and proofreading skills. Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills and must reliably manage multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.   Excellent attendance record.
Knowledge of all phases of a university fundraising/alumni relations program Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
