DescriptionAcara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our customer Alstom in New Castle, DEPrimary Responsibilities:Maintain inventory, orders, and purchases.Collect customer requests and dataCreate tickets for Level 2 SupportUpdates information on parts and supplierSoftware License management & Inventory1st Level Troubleshooting & IT SupportCreates periodic IT Health and Performance reportsParticipates in urgent Corrective Maintenance activities to restore servicePerform all routine hardware checks and routine maintenance.Updates Preventative Maintenance schedules according to historical data and deployment of softwareDocuments IT maintenance plans & proceduresUpdates and maintains IT test plansParticipates in system troubleshootingInstalls, Updates & Maintains all software, firmware, hardware, configuration settings when remote support requires direct local actionPerforms hands-on component replacement or manipulation workCapable of following and executing written IT procedures.Monitors/retrieves logs from servers and workstations upon request by the Maintenance Manager.Capable of analyzing log files.In case of failed component, provides logs/events explaining the failure to provide quick failure report to the clientWorks closely with IT System AdministratorsAssists to the troubleshooting of network issuesPerforms basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systemsCommunicates & customer services with customerGenerates periodic trend reports on all GTCS resource issues, alarm messages, and failuresGood knowledge of Microsoft Technologies & Products (Active Directory, SMB, GPO, RDP etc...)Basic Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, NTP, DNS, SMB, etc...)Basic knowledge of Linux Familiar with monitoring tools such as (SolarWinds IP Monitor, Zabbix, Nagios, etc...)Familiar with VMware, Hyper-V conceptsParticipates in 24/7 on-site support via rotating shiftsParticipates in 24/7 on-call supportJob RequirementsRequired Skills / Qualifications:Technician degree in Information Technology or Electronics or Equivalent3 years in a similar role in railway projectsEnglish fluent (speaking and writing)Additional Information:Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct, and Aleron's strategic partner, SDI) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
