Job Summary A maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep of a facility, such as an apartment building or business office. They are skilled in a variety of areas including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems. Duties include inspecting buildings, maintaining inventory, and scheduling repairs. Perform preventive maintenance procedures, inspections, and tasks for daily facilities operation.
Job Description Maintain campus buildings and property grounds Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Set up tables, chairs to prepare for events such as banquets and meetings. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Ability to work with minimum supervision Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, forklifts, and power sweeper. Audio/Visual setup and troubleshooting Drywall and Painting Light construction and carpentry Plumbing, civil, and basic electrical and mechanical repairs While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, in addition employee frequently is required to walk Skills Required Minimum 2-3 years related experience and/or training. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle or feel Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Must be able to wear a respirator Basic communication skills, both written and verbal (English). Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
