Polymer Operator Job Description This position is located on site at: 5203 DuPont Site Rd., Richmond, VA, 23234
The polymer operators are required to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, which includes weekends and holidays. Summary Monitors and operates equipment and facilities, including field equipment, insuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Maintains safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary. Performs basic maintenance repair and upkeep on area equipment. May perform advanced maintenance activities, as qualified.

Richmond Zytel® employs high performance work practices and Polymer Specialists will be responsible but not limited to: Operating the process in one to three of six process areas allowing shift team flexibility Performing routine maintenance while on shift as well as potentially participating in a maintenance rotation to assist with more complex maintenance and overhauls. Performing administrative tasks while on shift as well as participating in a day turn rotation to manage the day-to-day functions to run the business. Safety standards and operating procedures must be maintained, and employees will initiate emergency procedures when necessary. A successful candidate will need to be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
The following qualifications are required for this role: High School diploma or GED equivalent Willing and able to work a 12-hr. rotating shift schedule. Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice, call-in as required. Willing to train in multiple process areas as well as do maintenance work and perform administrative functions. Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel-toed boots, hardhat, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) Willing and able to climb up and down several flights of stairs several times per shift; able to lift 55 lbs.; work inside and outside for extended periods of time. The following additional skill sets are preferred by the site: Associate degree or higher, or 48+ college credit hours, technical education Four or more years of industrial/manufacturing experience Experience as an industrial electrician, millwright, pipe fitter, welder, or machinist. Demonstrated experience/competency in any of the following: Engineering, Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical Experience/competency in any of the following: Manufacturing Operations, Control Systems, ISO Systems or Basic Science Experience/competency in any of the following: Computer Applications, Accounting, Planning & Scheduling or Training & Development Please note: this position has a multi-step selection and interviewing process, both virtual and in-person.
