The Olympia Companies is looking for qualified and enthusiastic candidates to join our team!The Maintenance Person contributes to the hotel's commitment to high-quality guest satisfaction and teamwork by safely and efficiently maintaining the property i.e. performs preventative maintenance; repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.BenefitsOlympia Hospitality's comprehensive benefits package is designed to support our team members' well-being and financial security.Our 401K program includes a matching component, empowering employees to save for retirement with added company support.Team members can also take advantage of travel discounts at our portfolio of hotels.Additional benefits may be available based on the individual hotel that is hiring.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance tasks on building systems, equipment, and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to identify issues and implement effective repairs.Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff, and management, and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on operations.Conduct regular inspections and testing of building systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, elevators, and generators, to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, maintenance activities, and equipment performance to facilitate tracking and reporting.Respond promptly to emergency situations such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and other critical incidents, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to operations.Coordinate with other departments and external contractors as needed to address emergency repairs and ensure guest safety and satisfaction.Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks to upkeep the appearance and functionality of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.Assist with renovations, remodeling projects, and equipment upgrades to enhance the overall guest experience and maintain the competitiveness of our property.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to maintenance operations.Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and safety inspections.Skills Required* Provide high-level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressureTechnicalSolid experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipmentGeneral carpentry skills; knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools requiredExperience / Education* Minimum 1 year of general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade profession; Vocational School Certification preferred.Physical Demands* This is a very physically demanding job that requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting and kneeling.
