Maintenance Mechanic S10, The Statler Hotel Cornell University's Statler Hotel has launched a search for an S10 Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities team.
Your role as a Maintenance Mechanic: As a member of the School of Hotel Administration and Statler Hotel's Maintenance Department, you will be a vital contributor to ensuring all preventative, corrective, and planned maintenance activities for our buildings are executed properly. Among your job duties, you will:
Perform needed maintenance repairs and installations as per work orders. Execute appropriate procedures and activities for planned preventative maintenance. Perform renovation and project work to continue to elevate the integrity of our facilities. Respond to guest service calls for maintenance assistance, troubleshoot, and take action to adjust, correct, or repair. Monitor complex building HVAC systems daily to ensure proper functioning, diagnose problems and make needed adjustments. Perform security duties and other duties as required. Qualifications: High school diploma and formal training of one to two years in a vocational school, trade school or apprenticeship program. Must be proficient in the use of power/hand tools and mechanical/electrical testing equipment. Must have a minimum of five years' experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and/or HVAC. Must have a valid NY State driver's license. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends. Rewards & Benefits: This position is eligible for benefits.
