Job Summary Machinists are responsible for operating various machines such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines to shape and fabricate parts used in waffle iron production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Use machines, hand tools, power tools and other equipment to sandcast plates for waffle irons, convert frames and head assemblies, and to re-tool parts for the R&D and Manufacturing departments. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure it operates efficiently and safely. Assist in troubleshooting issues with machinery or parts production to identify and resolve problems quickly to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and assist Assembly Associates to identify and correct issues with parts including broken screws, bent frames, taps, helicoils, etc. Assemble waffle iron components in preparation for final inspection before delivery to customer. Program, reprogram, and inspect new, and refurbished parts, plates, and circuit boards. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards - adjusting as needed to maintain consistency and accuracy. Maintain accurate records of production processes, including materials used, machine settings, and quality inspections. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste in waffle iron manufacturing. Assist peers in quality assurance, shipping, and manufacturing as needed. Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience using basic hand and power tools in a professional setting. Ability to lift up to 70lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and lift for up to eight hours. Clear and effective communication skills. A willingness to work closely with engineers, designers, and fellow manufacturing associates to ensure the highest quality standards are met. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well with others.
