Position : CNC Machine Operator and Technicians
Location : 1209 Polk Street, Benicia, California 94510
Job Duties :
§ The machinists will set up, operate, and tend manual lathes, drill press, horizontal mills, and VTL's surface grinders.
§ Manufacture various parts essential to very large rotating, reciprocating and or stationary equipment, using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, vertical turret lathes, grinders and radial arm drill presses.
§ Study and comprehend detailed blue prints, layouts, diagrams, job orders, and sketches for information on tooling instructions and to determine material requirements and operational sequences.
§ Select, position, secure, and align appropriate tools and materials on machines according to written specifications.
§ Start lathe or turning machines and observe operations to ensure that specifications are met.
§ Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
§ Measure and inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators while working under demanding time constraints.
§ Perform checks and inspections of shop equipment.
§ Conduct ongoing maintenance and repair of shop equipment.
§ Produce drawings or sketches of various equipment and parts.
§ Perform minor programming and interpret digital read out (DRO).
Job Requirements :
· Certification and at least three years' training in machine operations or other related field.
· Minimum of 10 years machining experience
Must have in depth knowledge and Experience in:
· Manufacturing and repairing various rotating machinery such as pumps, turbines, and valves.
· Using lathes, mills, drill presses, and other machine shop equipment.
· General and precision machining.
· Engineering standards and tolerances, including application principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment necessary to design and production.
· Understanding of machine mechanics, including issue diagnosis, repair processing and maintenance.
· Reading and understanding blueprints, layouts, diagrams, and other materials relating to machine job orders.
· Raw materials, production processes, quality controls, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the manufacture of goods.
· Articulating complex machinery processes to others, including the shop foreman and other staff.
· Strong working knowledge of shop mathematics including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.
· Awareness of workshop safety practices.
· Utilizing strong initiative and judgment in understanding manufacturing processes to be able to make suggestions for improvements.
· Performing CNC programming and using digital read outs (DRO).
· Identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and develop alternative solutions.
· Machines and tools, including understanding of machine design, assembly, use, and testing.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to stand or walk for several hours at a time.
· Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and positioning objects weighing 40 to 50 pounds
· Available to work overtime on as needed basis.
Hours : 40 hours a week, F/T
Salary : $48,214-$[72,800] per year
