A Machinist manufactures and machines parts for use in rupture disc assemblies in accordance with company manufacturing procedures and safety policies. THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION that will train on 1st and then move to 2nd. Requirements Essential functions include: Determine setup requirements, sequence of operations and tolerance of finished parts using blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and instructions Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material as needed to set guides for subsequent machining Machine bar stock to specified dimensions Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications using precision measuring equipment Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need Requirements: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Ability to read blueprints Intermediate math and reading skills Working knowledge of Okuma lathes, mills and other industrial equipment used in the machine shop Ability to modify CNC programs Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required
Using proper lifting techniques, ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes
Willingness and ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies Attention to detail
Concern for quality, accuracy and safety
Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
Positive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, supervisors, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors when called upon
High school diploma or GED. Certificate in CIMM or related industrial technology preferred 3+ years' experience in a job shop or similar high-mix, low volume production environment.
