Reading and interpreting drawings to plan, set-up and operate equipment. Use Lock former to form parts to meet release requirements. Cut angles as required to meet release requirements. Read and understand shear list. Measure dimensions of work piece, using measuring tape, gauge, template, or ruler and square, for conformance to specifications Lift work pieces manually, positions and secures against guides and stops. Perform preventative measures as required such as lubricating and cleaning machines, with daily record keeping. Maintain a safe work environment while maximizing productivity, and follow all safety guidelines (includes wearing proper protective equipment) Diagnose and correct machine problems, report equipment failures to supervisor, and assist in the maintenance of the machine Inspecting finished products for defects and conformance to specifications and quality standards Perform housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean and safe working area Job requirements may be changed or altered as needed, depending on business demands. Qualifications and skills: Ability to set-up and run machinery without supervision. Ability to check and measure parts to ensure accuracy and precision. Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Lean Manufacturing & 5s training & experience is an asset. Proven experience with measuring tools such as: calipers, verniers, protractors Complete measurement conversions from metric to imperial, fractions to decimals. Material handling is an asset. Familiarity with general computer programs and operating computerized machinery. Ability to work individually, as well as a team and work under general supervision. Good verbal and written communication skills Good problem-solving skills within a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail Assessment of Skills & Ability may be required.
