Location: On-Site
Shift: Rotating, 12-hour Shift including Weekends
Wage: Starts at a base of $21.00/Hr

Position Overview: The Machine Operator is responsible for assisting with set up and operating packaging machinery including but not limited to form and fill machines, hopper feed systems, product screeners, automated scales, metal detectors, label applicators, bag inserters, case erectors, automated box and package printing systems, and various types of conveyor systems, etc. The use of basic hand tools is necessary in machine operation and set up.
Essential Job Functions: Assists with set ups and operating production line equipment. Accurately maintains daily production logs t hat are legible, neat, and orderly. Monitors quality control throughout entire packaging process. Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner. Complies with Bob's Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Possesses good communication skills both written and orally. Proficiency with basic hand tools for machine set up and operation. Ability to work well individually and as a member of a team. Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination. Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present. Qualifications: Position requires the ability to learn and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of production schedules within this company. Previous experience in the food packaging industry and/or experience as a Packaging Forklift Operator, Packaging Machine Tech or similar duties preferred. Physical Demands: Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 50 pounds. Position may require standing for long periods of time. Position requires the ability to work at a fast pace in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment: Weekends are required. The primary work environment for this position is within the production department. There are no adverse conditions associated with this position. Use of personal protective equipment such as ear plugs and hairnets are mandatory and use of non-slip shoes is recommended. Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
