KWS is looking for a Logistics/Warehouse Assistant Supervisor to join the team in Tangent, OR. In this role, you a ssist the supervisor with all logistic/warehouse related activities with an emphasis on specialized tasks such as import/export, consumable material inventory management, and supply chain support.
Essential Job Functions Assist in receiving harvest, coordinating staging for various processing operations, and picking and shipping of product.  Assist with running warehouse assigned processes. Maintain consumable materials for processing departments. Perform cycle counts and audits as necessary to ensure adequate supplies are in stock. Cross-train with warehouse team on all tasks and keep SOPs updated. Assist with preparing and coordinating each seasonal activity. Assist with annual physical inventory for non-seeds. Coordinate the purchasing and distribution of materials for all non-seed goods. Assist in ensuring package quality standards are met or exceeded. Lead multiple teams/projects throughout the processing year. Organize and maintain inventory and storage area ensuring all inventory transactions and shipments are accurate. Ship goods and seeds domestically and internationally. Track finished goods shipments to ensure timely arrival and keep customers updated on ETAs. Maintain records, document necessary information, and utilize reports to project warehouse status. Assist in determining and coordinating staffing levels and assigning work assignments. Fill-in as Acting Department Supervisor as needed. Keep department current on quality management systems as the QM representative of the department. Cross-train in other positions to meet business demands. Ensure Company handbook, RGPs and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly. Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business. Meet attendance requirements. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: 3 + years of experience in a warehouse leadership role in a production environment. 5 + years education + experience Comfortable operating processing equipment Strong proficiency in MS Office programs. Experience with import/export shipments, customs, freight brokers, phytosanitary certificates. Ability to lead a team effectively and efficiently. Attention to detail. Strong basic math skills and proficiency in warehousing procedures. Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills. Strong proficiency in multiple inventory/warehousing/shipping system programs. Demonstrated proficiency in departmental organization and planning. Valid driver's license Forklift certified or willingness and ability to be certified. Experience with parcel carriers – UPS, FedEx, DHL Preferred Qualifications: DOT HAZMAT shipping certified or willingness and ability to obtain. ERP experience – SAP preferred General working and mechanical knowledge Ability to train others to operate HMI interfaces Excellent forklift driving skills Agriculture related logistics experience Working Environment: Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) High Mobility - able to cover multiple areas including staircases safely and quickly and able to bend/twist Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting strategies Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc) Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
