JOB OVERVIEW: The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the logistical aspects of the company's operations. This includes dispatching CDL drivers, coordinating equipment and material moves, and collaborating with the yard/plant manager and CAO to complete tasks. The role requires effective communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a knowledge of DOT regulations.
Supervisory: o Manage, coach, mentor and encourage your team.
o Provide feedback and conduct performance reviews with your team.
o Ensure confidentiality of data.
o Communicate staffing needs to HR and interview candidates as needed.
o Report any employee attendance, tardiness, or job performance issues to direct supervisor.
o Cross train with and fill in for project coordinators as needed.
Dispatching and Logistics Coordination:
o Dispatch truck and equipment moves for upcoming and active jobs.
o Review driver's hours of service for available hours and dispatching.
o Prioritize and optimize work schedules for efficiency.
o Schedule and assign materials (bedding, flowable material, concrete, asphalt, etc.) for upcoming jobs and as needed.
o Monitor the GPS to track jobs and equipment.
Yard / Batch Plant Coordination:
o Collaborate with plant personnel and CAO to ensure plant/yard production meets business needs.
o Coordinate with plant personnel and mixer drivers for daily flowable material orders.
o Monitor and order aggregate supplies.
o Oversee and communicate to the CAO when street sweeping, yard clean-up, snow removal etc. are not meeting satisfactory expectations.
o Ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
o Timely reporting with updates including progress or issues impacting production.
o Build and manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain proper pricing, quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with terms of contracts.
o Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation/history.
Communication: o Utilize text threads to communicate with all necessary departments and personnel.
o Communicate with the operations team and field management regularly for project updates, and assist with any issues that may arise.
o Communicate with the maintenance department for maintenance updates and schedules.
o Check emails periodically throughout the day and respond accordingly
o Answer incoming calls throughout the day.
o Handle customer service issues and customer complaints as needed.
o Obtain customer information, set up estimates and send information to the sales team.
o Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including job details, assignments, and completion status.
o Review material tickets to verify quantity, price, etc.
o Enter and maintain accurate records within the database.
o Prepare and submit regular reports on yard and dispatch operations.
Problem Solving:
o Address and resolve any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise.
o Collaborate with operations to troubleshoot problems and provide support.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: o Proven experience in dispatching or logistics coordination.
o Familiarity with plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
o Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
o Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
?????? EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: o Highschool Diploma or GED
o Additional training or certification in logistics or dispatching is a plus. Job closing date 5/19/2024
