Interco is a global recycling company headquartered in St. Louis with facilities in Missouri and Illinois. The company is an industry leader providing recycling services to companies throughout the western hemisphere. Interco has been recycling computers, batteries, metals, and electronics with a focused track record of innovation and integrity since 1996. The company specializes in the placement of smelter-ready materials catering to commercial, industrial, dealer, and government organizations nationwide. 
The Interco Metaltronics recycling facilities are separated into three departments: nonferrous metals, computers and electronics, and battery processing. The nonferrous facility is located on the 40-acre main campus in Madison (IL) while the computers and electronics are processed in Edwardsville where the Administrative and some logistics offices are located. The commercial department is located on The Hill in St. Louis.
The patent-pending 22-acre 225,000 sqft Critical Mineral Recovery™ Lithium-ion battery processing plant in Fredericktown, Missouri is scheduled to open in Q1 2023 Job Description Interco has an opening for a Logistics Assistant in the company's growing Logistics department.

This job consists of working directly with and for the Sr. Logistics Coordinator assisting the scheduling of inbound and outbound freight -- primarily dry vans, flatbeds, and dump trailers -- throughout North America. The Logistics Assistant provides support to the logistics department while learning the intricacies of a Transportation Management System (TMS), how to effectively negotiate transportation rates with trucking companies and freight carriers, and manage the logistics of a complicated supply chain ensuring loads are picked up and delivered on time.
An outstanding candidate should be able to write articulate and succinct emails, process and analyze information and synthesize both pricing and market information back to Sr. Logistics Coordinator and the rest of the logistics team. 
The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with a successful professional and personal track record demonstrating the ability to work both in a team environment and alone. This person is passionate, resourceful, perceptive, dependable, and driven with a desire to learn about and excel in an exploding industry. This candidate will have a yearning to develop and cultivate strong business development skills under the expert tutelage of a seasoned supply chain professional.
Although this is an entry-level position, the right applicant has a very strong likelihood to advance based on demonstrated achievement because this person will work smarter and harder than the rest. This position is the training ground and precursor to the Logistics Coordinator position within the company. Qualifications Skills and Qualities: Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work independently and within a group/team environment Strong math skills with the ability to internally perform quick calculations High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) Solid work ethic Excellent listening skills Competitive personality Comprehensive grasp of excel – be prepared to demonstrate Ability to research various media, synthesize market information and report back Qualifications Work experience in Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Trucking, or other roles where organization and structure were key functions of the role Must enjoy working in a high-paced atmosphere and manage deadlines Ability to communicate with people at all levels, both written and verbal Must be self-motivated, decisive, and able to meet critical deadlines Experience utilizing a CRM is preferred Strong problem-solving skills -- puzzle-solving is very helpful Excellent mathematical and negotiation skills High achiever with attention to detail and accuracy and an urgency to do more with the time they have each day A desire to learn and compete in a team environment Must possess strong mental toughness and tenacity The company is experiencing significant market position growth due to a number or factors that suggest steady acceleration for years to come.
