Lithium-Sulfur Battery Technician

The Applied Companies has partnered with a Carson City renewable energy company, in growth mode, who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Battery Technician to join their team focused on lithium-sulfur battery research and development. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within a growing company, and it requires someone with a background in manufacturing and building by hand. The position is primarily involved in working in a dry room environment, handling sensitive materials and conducting experiments to optimize battery performance and reliability. Responsibilities include:
Battery Fabrication: Execute battery fabrication processes in a dry room environment, including electrode preparation (as needed), cell assembly, and encapsulation techniques.
Material Handling: Handle and store lithium and sulfur-based materials safely and efficiently within a controlled environment, following established protocols and safety procedures.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to battery fabrication, testing, or performance, collaborating with team members to implement effective solutions.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and electronic databases, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment used for battery fabrication and testing to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
Process Optimization: Participate in process optimization efforts to streamline battery fabrication workflows, improve yield, and reduce production costs while maintaining quality standards.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while working with hazardous materials and equipment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and chemical handling procedures.
