HOW A LINUX ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Troubleshoots complex system hardware and software issues
Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software
Performs advanced software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
Leads efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups archive operations
Conducts advanced audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and guidelines
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users
Evaluates existing systems and plans long-term strategies
May coach and provide guidance to less experience professionals
Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, LDAP, ICMP, ssh and SNMP
Skilled in system administration tasks such as file system, network, and account troubleshooting
Responsible for provisioning virtual and physical servers or workstations
Administering systems using automation and scripting tools to include CLI, Ansible, or various coding languages
Knowledge of repository management practices, patch administration, and vulnerability remediation
May serve as a team or task lead
Education and Experience:
Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
5+ years of related experience as a Linux Administrator
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
Recommended Skills and Abilities:
Security + Certification
Network + Certification
Linux + Certification
Additional Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE and LPIC) desired

The likely salary range for this position is $97,258 - $131,584. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Scheduled Weekly Hours:
