Join our team as a Line Technician at our Superior, WI, Operations Center. We are looking for either a Journeyman Line Technician or a 4th year Apprentice Line Technician to fill this position. You'll be at the forefront of constructing and maintaining our electric distribution system while ensuring top-notch electric service for cooperative members.
A day in the life • Work on overhead and underground lines.
• Use staking sheets to understand and carry out tasks.
• Move, set up, and look after important equipment like poles, transformers, and meters.
• Focus on installing streetlights and other special lights.
• Quickly respond to trouble calls.
Requirements A high school diploma and at least four years of electrical line experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You must have a Journeyman-level Lineman Certification or be a 4th-year apprentice with the necessary coursework and hours completed. Additionally, you need a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License for interstate commerce, a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate, and CPR Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Understand construction and maintenance of power lines to properly build and maintain the electric distribution line.
• Adhere to Rural Utilities Service, National Electrical Safety Code, and ECE's policies, safety rules, and procedures.
• Understand hot line work to perform work safely.
• Communicate effectively to conduct business with employees and members.
• Possess a high level of integrity; respect and maintain confidentiality.
• Organize time efficiently to complete responsibilities.
• Perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
• Operate and handle different types of equipment safely.
• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force.
• Work in various conditions (temperature extremes, loud noise, etc.).

The pay rate for a fully qualified Journeyman Lineman candidate for this position would be $51.91. It's a non-exempt, bargaining unit, onsite position at our Superior, WI Operations Center.
