Our client is an Indianapolis-based regional airline that operates the largest fleet of Embraer 170/175 aircraft in the countryThey are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager job in Chicago, ILSalary: Depending on experience. Relocation assistance is provided. Compensation is $110,000-125,000

Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and direct aircraft maintenance at a line station• Produce cost-effective, reliable maintenance operations in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations• Ensure the facility is maintained in compliance with company and OSHA regulations• Manage mechanics in overall maintenance operation• Develop effective schedules to meet the operation's demands• Utilize manpower and schedules to complete maintenance effectively• Keep informed of the status of work-in-progress and prioritize work• Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained• Develop innovative solutions to make aircraft maintenance processes more efficient and effective• Ensure that the maintenance base has adequate materials, calibrated tooling, and equipment• Maintain the maintenance base in good working condition• Evaluate Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System process to ensure best maintenance practices• Ensure that detailed accident or damage reports are completed• Recommend changes to enhance operational effectiveness• Support other locations' maintenance base operations• Ensure OSHA/safety guidelines are followed• Ensure safety training of all mechanics• Manage timely and accurate information on aircraft status• Coordinate with human resources for questions/issues with leaves of absence, compensation, benefits• Oversee vendors to ensure work and services are provided in a timely manner• Foster the Company's core values and culture throughout the work environment• Screen, interview, and make recommendations for hiring potential employees• Coach and provide leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision of direct reports• Appraise performance, provide performance feedback, take corrective actions, and oversee training and development of staff• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license• 6 years of A&P experience on similar aircraft, with at least two of those years in a supervisory or lead position• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Powerpoint• An Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, management, aircraft maintenance, or related field (preferred)• RII and Run and Taxi qualifications on applicable aircraft (preferred)• Possess a stable employment history• Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record• Able to work both in a team setting and individually• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a stressful environment• Must be able to communicate in a practical, calm, and professional manner• Able to pass an FAA-required 10-year work history review and pass criminal background and fingerprint checks• Willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, and the general public• Ability to define problems and deal with various variables in situations where only limited standardization exists• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form• Makes decisions daily on the use of resources, performance, and budgets
Key Skills Needed
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant license• A&P experience on similar aircraft• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations• Problem-solving ability• Decision-making ability
