A little about us : We are a small Utah company that provides consulting, planning, and ordinance drafting services for cities and towns in Utah. We have completed over 100 projects in Utah over the last eight years. We mainly work with land use, subdivision, and development codes and regulations. Check us out at

Please note that this position is intended to be short-term (through the summer), with potential options for extension or transition to a full-time or more long-term role.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in a related field
Strong research, writing and editing, skills
Experience managing document revision
High attention to detail (the laws we write can't have loopholes)
Ideal candidates may have a background as a planner, law student, paralegal, policy analyst, editor, or may have experience working for a legislative body or in local government politics, construction, or entitlements
Stamina for reading long, poorly written, confusing, and technical land use regulations
Interest in making local governments run more efficiently
Substantive knowledge of land use, development, and local government preferred, but not required. We will provide on the job all the training you need.
Job Description :
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Researching Utah state and local laws and regulations
Drafting ordinances for adoption by local government entities, with a focus on subdivision, land use, and development
Providing remote support to clients, mainly city councils and planning commissions
Option to meet and present to cities in person, if desired
Other details :
Pay: $25+/hr
Part-time and flexible working arrangements, with fully remote options
Expected commitment of at least 10 hours per week, with the possibility to work up to 30 hours
