Why does the job exist? The Legal Secretary - Advanced will:
Provide legal support services for the Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED), staff and attorneys in CSED county offices. How does it get done? The Legal Secretary - Advanced is responsible for:
Completing all after-court activities on cases and updating the Child Support Enforcement System (CSES); Tracking legal documents, preparing and tracking process service documents; Scheduling and tracking genetic testing; Scheduling text message reminders; Conducting locate searches; Acting as back up for reception and file room clerk. Who are the customers? Parties of child support cases; Employers, courts and contractors; Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED) field staff, management and Attorneys. Ideal Candidate The Ideal Candidate is:
Highly Organized Minimum Qualification High School diploma or Equivalent with one (1) year of directly related clerical and/or secretarial experience utilizing legal terminology, procedures and documents. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results. Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions Office setting, exposure to VDT, extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required.
