Position Summary:
Interact with internal staff and conduct in-depth legal research to identify, track and monitor key corporate restructuring case milestones and emerging trends. The ideal candidate will have strict attention to detail and be able to navigate various legal websites and court dockets. The candidate will be able to manage their own workflow while prioritizing and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Maintain expert-level knowledge of legal websites and case cadence to enhance deliverables and optimize identified opportunities
Conduct legal research via court dockets across multiple federal and state jurisdictions, with a primary focus on corporate restructuring cases, and via industry publication
Review and analyze court documents to determine case status
Track multiple matters and follow up to determine timing of potential opportunities
Monitor relevant court deadlines and milestones for actionable opportunities
Maintain and update existing CRM system for contacts, organizations, opportunities, and current engagements
Generate accurate reports on a regular and ad hoc basis
Proactively expand research sources and identify additional options which allow for more expansive research processes and resources
Assist in the development of client profiles and strategies by reviewing current and potential clients
Communicate and report on opportunities to senior management in a clear, concise, and timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited university
Experience in conducting research in a business or legal setting
Knowledge of legal and general resources and methodologies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong team player with the ability to work independently
Ability to synthesize complex information
Excellent judgment in determining the most appropriate resources for cost-effective research
Ability to conduct research independently and in multiple legal areas
High level of organization and follow-through
The annual pay range for this role is currently $75,000 - 85,000. The Company's salary ranges are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members. The annual base salary range listed here is subject to change at any time, in the Company's discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
