You would be an excellent fit if you:Possess a strong drive to achieve billable targets and can efficiently manage your timeThrive in fast-paced environments that provide diversity and challengesDisplay a team-oriented attitude, always willing to assist wherever neededFollow established policies and procedures to ensure excellent representation for every clientEnjoy working with spreadsheets and digging through bank statementsShow flexibility in adapting to new software and technologiesWhile we highly appreciate skills and experience, we prioritize qualities such as integrity, intelligence, and character.As a legal assistant, you will:Assist with producing discovery and cataloging discovery responsesPromptly contact assigned clients with developments on their casesDraft correspondence to clients as neededSubmit pleadings and other court documents in Maryland and the District of ColumbiaCollaborate with attorneys and paralegals to prepare for mediations, depositions, or trialsOperate within a team environment, actively collaborating with colleaguesQualifications:A Legal Assistant must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; be friendly, empathetic, and organized; and be proficient with Microsoft Office 360 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.Additionally, you must possess the following skills:Ability to manage time effectively and ensure deadlines and KPIs are met or exceededStrong organizational and communication skills--both oral and writtenPeople Skills/Customer Service—A Legal Assistant should have excellent people skills with the confidence to approach clients with empathyProficiency in multitasking and adherence to processesAbility to work in a team with other Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and AttorneysBilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plusAbout Company:We are Z Family Law, and we don't write endings -- We Create New Beginnings.
